Apart from not being able to prize my eyes open ๐, Jack woke me up as requested. I got dressed, and Jack showed me around their beautiful three and a half acre property. Lots of autumn trees, their leaves changing colour. A dam with large cat fish and bass and other varieties. Bright sunny skies, a chill in the air, but a make you feel alive kind of morning. After Granola and yoghurt, we hit the road. Jack steered the Ford Ranger out of the driveway, and a couple of miles later turned west onto to one of the many interstate highways. The houses were sparse as all acreage allotments, and surprising how many had old cars rusting slowly away in the front yards. My neck was turning from one side to the other like a kid in a candy shop. A few miles further we turned onto a country road and with a lot less traffic, the scenery was absolutely stunning as we drove through a mountain range. A couple of hours later and the time moved forward an hour as we changed time zones. At around two pm, weย checked into our hotel and met up with Jack’s work friend Dustin. We all then went to Buffalo Trace, a whiskey distillary. That was very interesting and the tasting session at the end was very well received. On the way back to the hotel, Jack showed us a huge liquor shop. Not as big as Buc-ee’s, but ten times bigger than I have ever seen. I couldn’t leave there without buying a six pack of Grolsch beer, which we polished off when we arrived back at the hotel. Dustin then went off to do his own thing, while Jack and I had Italian food for dinner, washed down with a beer We then walked back to our hotel, and I was more than ready for a big night’s sleep ๐ด.
