I didn’t hear Jack and Dustin leave for their business meeting on Thursday morning, I was in a deep slumber. I woke up at eight and just lounged around and made a cup of tea. I then showered and read my book. About 10.30 the guys arrived back, satisfied with their morning’s meeting. We then drove Dustin to the airport for his departure back home to Maryland. Jack and I then went to look for a phone shop for me to buy a local sim, before heading to a Kentucky horse stud for an organised tour. Amazing how rich you need to be, to own and run thirteen hundred acres with 150 race horses at all different stages. Seventy five in racing form or recovering, (spelling),a couple of stallions, twenty odd brood mares pregnant, and birthing next April, a bunch of yearlings and younger horses, and around forty staff. Mind boggling. Kentucky is possibly the breeding/racing thoroughbred capital of the world. It is also well known for its bourbon. I was lucky to see both in action. Later in the day, we drove the three hours back to Jack’s house. Arriving back in Collinsville around seven pm, we had some great Mexican food washed down with a bucket size mug of margareta.I was off to bed, when the rum came out.Tomorrow is a rest day I hope. Getting back to buying that sim card, to cut a long story short, I ended up having to buy a new phone. That was the bad news. The good news, I purchased a five hundred dollar phone for one dollar and six cents. Because I paid cash, I had to pay two dollars. But I’m not complaining. Thursday started lazily. After a granola breakfast, and a slow start to the day, we headed to town and bought some groceries, we did a couple of chores back at Jack’s and then lit the fire. A glorious evening drinking beer, and later on I cooked some steak and potatoes in alfoil. By ten pm, I was showered and tucked in bed because tomorrow, up at four am for another big day 🙃.
