I set my alarm for four pm ,as another big day in store. My phone didn’t switch back automatically to central time, which means I awoke at three am. Arggg, no point in trying to go back to sleep now. Packed my stuff, and started setting up my new phone, waiting for Jack to wake so we could hit the road. No brekky and left four thirty for another part of Kentucky, where Jack’s wife Sarah has been staying with their daughter Kelly. Kelly just had a beautiful baby girl, the couple’s fourth child. Jack and Sarah, at fifty seven, have three grown ups, and amongst them, produced eleven grandchildren, with a twelfth on the way. A very amazing, loving, beautiful family. We arrived at seven thirty, and Sarah was busy making biscuits and gravy with scrambled eggs for breakfast. We in Australia call scones what they call biscuits, and the gravy, is a mixture of cooked pork sausage, dripping, all purpose flour, milk, and black pepper ,poured over the scones and scrambled eggs on the side. Very filling, oh!I forgot to mention, there was also a scone cut in half smothered in blackberry jam. After breakfast, I was happy relaxing in the lounge, listening and watching the three kids running around and playing. After Kelly fed Abigail, she placed her on my chest. In no time, that beautiful baby was asleep, and I soon followed. Later that morning, we all went and visited a war museum that included not only the great wars, but was more concentrated on the likes of Afghanistan. It had the Chinook that carried bin Laden’s body after he was killed. We then headed back to Kelly and Marvin’s house for lunch, in which I enjoyed home made minestrone soup before Jack and I took off in the car for my return to Nashville. Even with my nap earlier, I was still feeling a bit weary. However, the weather was sunny and eighty degrees Fahrenheit,so very pleasant. Jack saw me into my hotel lobby at around three thirty, and we hugged, and I thanked him for a wonderful time spent together. I checked in, relaxed, and my mate Rob from Tasmania arrived a couple of hours later. Rob and I didn’t have to venture too far to find a hotel with live music. A couple of beers and some catch up chatting, a steak, and a quiet night for two old blokes before heading back to our comfort inn. Cool weather, but nice. Tomorrow morning we don’t need to leave till 9.3, a more respectable time.
